Clinical Psychologist
Position Summary
The ideal candidate is looking for a home to consult, start, and/or grow their private practice. The Consulting Clinical Psychologist will use methods/psychological theories to increase the well-being of children, adolescent youth, and young adults, who need or have a diagnosis of Autism, Intellectual Disability/Developmental Delay, and/or, mental health diagnosis. The Clinical Psychologist will educate and supervise ANUVO affiliated Assessment Specialists (psychometrists) who will administer, and evaluate, psychological testing, and reporting. The Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical supervision, direction, and guidance regarding ANUVO students' behavior support plans and strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provides continuing and comprehensive mental health care for children, youth, adolescents, and young adults.

Is research-based.

Build, grow, and supervise a team of ANUVO Assessment Specialists (psychometrist, behavior specialist, social workers, etc.)

Providing training on assessment measures
-
Assisting with psychoeducational assessment report and interpretation

Furthering the learning system and assessment system

Be able to handle referrals for assessments and treatment services for children, adolescents, and their families including but not limited to:
-
Psychological/Diagnostic Assessments for Children and Youth

Psychoeducational Assessment
-
Parent Education and Counselling
-
Participating in activities related to coordinating the interdisciplinary team as required
-
Coordinating and delivering a comprehensive range of psychodiagnostic assessments and treatment services such as cognitive, educational, and social/emotional evaluations and psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual or group therapy, and behavior management
Education
-
Canadian Postdoctoral Degree in Psychology from an accredited university required
-
Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) to provide psychological and behavioral services to children and adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disability

Qualifications

Clinical supervisory experience
-
Experience with Intellectual Disability in both children and adults
-
Experience with autistic children and youth recommended
-
Experience working with families
-
Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and time management skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including cultural and socio-economic competency
-
Computer literacy
-
Ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Hours of work will be developed in collaboration with the successful candidate to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

Must provide proof of registration with your regulatory college & malpractice insurance

Must have valid criminal check and vulnerable sector screening

A doctorate degree in psychology, education, or a closely related field with formal training in the ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation of clinical assessments related to the intended use of the assessment. or

Licensure or certification to practice in your province in a field related to the purchase. or
-
Certification by or full membership in a professional organization such as College of Psychology, the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (CRHSPP), the Canadian Association of School Psychologists (CASP) or other North American organizations such as the American Psychological Association (APA) that requires training and experience in the relevant area of assessment.

Fluently Bi-Lingual (speak, read, and writes) in the 2 official languages of Ottawa (French and English) preferred
