Educator
ANUVO is a center that helps families with children with mild to moderate learning, mental, emotional, or physical disabilities, learn in a one-on-one multi-modal environment using information from each child’s learning preference assessment, psycho-educational, assessment, and other diagnosed needs, teaching from each child’s learning preference; visual- by sight, auditory - by hearing, kinesthetic/tactile - hands-on. Additionally, families and students have access to mental health assessments and services without waiting on long waitlists.

Position Summary
The educator is responsible for preparing and delivering 1-hour session of personalized fluid learning plans informed by each student’s psychoeducational assessment report/recommendations and ANUVO’s Learning preference Assessment which identifies each student’s unique learning style or preference (visual- by sight, auditory - by hearing, kinesthetic/tactile - hands-on). The Educator is responsible for delivering unique and fluid learning experiences for each student session. Learning plans are revised regularly as student’s needs change.
Subjects: JK-Grade 12 Math, Science, English & Language Arts (reading, writing, comprehension, etc.)
Duties and Responsibilities

Work with students with mild to moderate learning, mental, emotional, or physical disabilities.

Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Teach basic skills to students with disabilities.

Provides small-group instruction for students with special needs
-
Prepare and deliver support sessions with clear objectives based on student's learning needs and ability

Present materials in manageable and appropriate quantities

Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within the center

Incorporate appropriate technology and media in lesson planning and teaching

Do formal and informal ongoing assessment of students

Integrate the student’s learning preferences (visual- by sight, auditory - by hearing, kinesthetic/tactile - hands-on), a multimodel approach, social responsibility, and kindness into daily teaching and routines

Administer ANUVO education support services ANUVO Educational Center setting
-
Might administer ANUVO education support service in the student´s home on a case-by-case and as-needed basis.
Perform other related duties as required
Education

Bachelor’s of Education or related field of study

Special Education Teacher

Resource Teacher

Ontario Teacher Certification (preferred)

Qualifications
-
Teaching experience for a period of 1 year or more
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English (required) or in both official languages French and English (preferred) -
Good technical and computer skills

Ability to work within a team, with integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, and confidence

Interpersonal skills with an emphasis on compassion, patience, and professionalism

Ability to work alone with integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, and confidence

Good Rece Police Vulnerable Sector Check Certificate within the past 3-6 months
